Morlocks 2

In this Morlock comic, the title is “The Rocket’s Red Glare”. It begins with Angel Dust sitting in a dark alley filled with garbage by a wall. On the wall, there is a poster which reads “We’re Watching You”. Though much like a homeless person, Angel Dust is a social outcast of society; i.e., a modern day leper. As her eyes glow in the dark alley, she stares out at the reader as if thinking, ‘We’re Watching You Too’.

Morlocks

This issue of Marvel Morlocks (2002) is called “Initiation”. To start, a new member is added to the group: Cell. After being shot by the police for gang activity, Cell’s power manifests where his cells become one. Immediately, he dissolves and ends up in the sewers of Chicago. In the sewers, he meets the Chicago Morlocks and he’s accepted into their ranks.

General Hospital

While surfing Youtube, I came across this first episode of the soap opera General Hospital which aired on April 1, 1963. In one scene, a girl named Angie Costello has a bandaged eye. As I watched, her situation seemed like my own; particularly, the tragic events of her life.

The Warriors

In review, the movie The Warriors (1979) makes a statement about the republic form of government. To start, you have these nine delegates of a larger gang of hundreds. This sounds like state delegates sent to a constitutional convention. If one adopts a government analogy, these delegates could be Ambassadors, public Ministers, and Consuls of foreign countries or early states. In the movie, these representatives are the nine delegate Warriors. Currently, republic government is the dominant form of government in the United States. (more…)
