After a long night of listening to Youtube music, I checked out “My Strange Addiction” from the When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019) Billie Eilish album. With that, here’s another review and interpretation of a great Billie Eilish song.

According to Billie Eilish’s lyrics in “My Strange Addiction,” people have strange dances. Apparently, one sample in this song states: “No, Billie, I haven’t done that dance since my wife died.” This guy did a dance when his wife died.

When it comes to strange dances, though, there are more dances in this song. “There’s a whole crowd of people out there who need to learn how to do the Scarn.” There is one called the “Scarn”.

However, in this tune, Billie talks about learning the hard way when it comes to asking questions. Billie explains to us, saying,”Don’t ask questions you don’t wanna know. Learned my lesson way too long ago.”

Perhaps, she didn’t listen to advice when jumping into a bad relationship.

“To be talking to you, belladonna. Shoulda taken a break, not an oxford comma. Take what I want when I wanna. And I want ya.” Perhaps, too, it was advice about stealing.

Nevertheless, Billie is faced with ultimatums. Billie reveals one ultimatum: “Bad, bad news. One of us is gonna lose. I’m the powder, you’re the fuse. Just add some friction.” Somebody has to lose.

Anyways, Billie is obsessed with someone in this track.

“You are my strange addiction. You are my strange addiction. My doctors can’t explain. My symptoms or my pain. But you are my strange addiction,” she tells us.

After listening to the main samples in her song, you can tell Billie is obsessed with The Office television series.

“I’m really, really sorry. I think I was just relieved to see that Michael Scarn got his confidence back. Yeah, Michael, that movie is amazing. It’s like, one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life… You should enter it in festivals. Or carnivals. Thoughts?Pretty good reaction. Pretty cool, right?”

That being said, Billie tells us again that she is drug free according to the lyrics in this song. “Deadly fever, please don’t ever break. Be my reliever ’cause I don’t self medicate. And it burns like a gin and I like it. Put your lips on my skin and you might ignite it. Hurts, but I know how to hide it, kinda like it.”

Additionally, we learn Billie doesn’t ask for permission when belting out these lyrics. “Bite my glass, set myself on fire. Can’t you tell I’m crass? Can’t you tell I’m wired? Tell me ‘Nothing lasts’. Like I don’t know. You could kiss my as-king about my motto.”

However, my favorite part of the whole song is when the song ends.
“Did you like it? Did you like that? Um, which part?” Billie tells her brother.

Overall, “My Strange Addiction” is a strange song. However, it sounds good, and it has many interesting ideas. I like the way the song sounded and the lyrics. I would recommend this song to be added to any playlist.
