In regards to the Coronavirus, 12 Monkeys is a good movie to watch because it’s about a man (James played by Bruce Willis) from the future who travels back in time to try and prevent a secret extremist organization from releasing a deadly virus, which eventually destroys most of the world population in a month. However, it’s destiny for plagues to happen and you can’t change destiny, which James finds out in 12 Monkeys.

Eventually, in James’ future, mankind has to live underground. All governments and organizations must live underground. Mankind must hide underground because this virus mutates; that is, underground is the only safe place from the virus.

That being said, this movie has a similar apocalyptic message to the bible. In the past, Jesus foretold future plagues before the end. Also, other bible writers warned of the four horsemen, particularly the horseman of plague which would kill many people on the earth. Also, in the biblical time of the end, humans try to hide in mountains, which could mean organizations. However, Jesus said whoever makes it to the end survives. 12 Monkeys seems fit in light of the current plague and parallels warnings found in the bible.

Here’s some good quotes from 12 Monkeys:

Jeffrey Goines: You know what crazy is? Crazy is majority rules.

Jeffery Goines: There’s no right, there’s no wrong, there’s only popular opinion.

Dr. Kathryn Railly: Nobody is going to die! You’re not going to save the world, okay? You’re delusional. You’ve made all this up out of bits and pieces in your head.

Dr. Kathryn Railly: He’s sick. He thinks he comes from the future. He’s been living in a carefully constructed fantasy world and that world is starting to disintegrate. He needs help!

Dr. Kathryn Railly: And what we say is the truth is what everybody accepts. Right, Owen? I mean, psychiatry: it’s the latest religion. We decide what’s right and wrong. We decide who’s crazy or not. I’m in trouble here. I’m losing my faith.

It’s a good movie. Give it a watch. It will make you think of things in light of the Coronavirus.
