Sia’s “Alive” is a good track because a person can relate to the lyrics.
Sia sings about growing up in chaos, which I can relate. “I was born in a thunderstorm. I grew up overnight. I played alone. I played on my own. I survived,” sings the artist. The writing is on the wall like graffiti.
Furthermore, the artist sings about hell. “I had a one-way ticket to a place where all the demons go. Where the wind don’t change. And nothing in the ground can ever grow. No hope, just lies. And you’re taught to cry into your pillow,” Sia sings. I can relate to Sia’s version hell because it seems to be similar.
Further, Sia says she’s glad to be alive. “I’m still breathing, I’m still breathing. I’m still breathing. I’m still breathing. I’m alive. I’m alive. I’m alive. I’m alive,” However, I’m just glad to laugh.
Although in tribulation, Sia has found comfort. “I found solace in the strangest place. Way in the back of my mind. I saw my life in a stranger’s face. And it was mine,” she tells her audience. Ironically, at this point in the video, the Joker appears.
Sia has made bad choices. “I have made every single mistake. That you could ever possibly make. I took and I took and I took what you gave. But you never noticed that I was in pain. I knew what I wanted; I went in and got it,” the singer tells us. However, she doesn’t regret making mistakes.
That being said, the artist has become stronger. “Did all the things that you said that I wouldn’t. I told you that I would never be forgotten. And all in spite of you,” Sia points out. She can now do things, which she couldn’t do before.
Importantly, Sia’s a survivor. “I survived. I’m still breathing, I’m still breathing. I’m alive. You took it all, but I’m still breathing,” she tells us. She survived.
Sia’s “Alive” is a good video to listen to over and over and think about things.
