This article reviews an episode titled “The Moroi” from the television series “Impulse Revisionism.” In the episode, Nikolai and his uncle Sergay struggle with hunger because the church withholds rations from those who miss services. To survive, Nikolai resorts to stealing food. During a failed theft, he is chased to a rooftop, where, despite the peril, he jumps off and miraculously teleports back home to his piano.

Nikolai’s uncle believes that Nikolai has angelic powers, likening him to biblical angels who could teleport. This belief is reinforced by historical and biblical references, such as the Moabite stone that mentions Jehovah, supporting the authenticity of the Bible.

The episode also explores Nikolai’s supernatural ability to teleport, which intrigues his friend Wesley, who fantasizes about attending concerts in different cities on the same day using Nikolai’s powers.

Nikolai is haunted by visions of his deceased brother Milos, who calls Nikolai “magnificent.” These visions are vivid and include sound. To cope with his grief, Nikolai plays the piano, not to improve his skill, but to hold onto the memories of his lost family members, much to Wesley’s misunderstanding.

Returning to the church where his family died, Nikolai confronts his past and the reality of their deaths, a significant step in his emotional healing process. This act of revisiting the site of such profound personal loss highlights his inner strength and ability to finally move forward.
