Federal Gun Law Joke?

Federal gun laws are a masterclass in passing the buck. The feds tell the states, “You handle it!” and when things go wrong, guess who gets the blame? The local sheriff, who probably just wanted to solve a local murder but now has to enforce some federal background check he had no say in. Congress messes up, and it’s the sheriff left holding the bag.

Any solution??

Justice Scalia had a good laugh about this in the Printz case, basically saying, “There’s zero proof the feds can boss state officials around like this.” Yet here we are, with the federal government treating states like their personal interns.

And then there’s the fun part: forcing governors and legislators to sign off on bills they didn’t even write. Totally democratic, right? Sounds more like a page out of Russia’s playbook. It’s the same old trick—make everyone comply, whether they like it or not. Who needs freedom when you’ve got a centralized power party going on?
