Just checked the first episode of this Netflix series. Seems to be about some Allister Crowley and parallel universe ish. As well, the film has critiques of society.
This series critiques society in regards to privacy. For example, in one scene, we see Dan monitored and followed by his employer and a shadowy figure (might represent the NSA, Russia, China, etc.); specifically, Dan sits alone in the bathroom and a strange woman knocks on the door to see if he’s ok- a woman who should not be in the house or on the property, according to the instructions given to Dan. As well, Dan is out in the country and followed by the same shadowy, sketchy woman, unbeknownst to him. The episodes suggest underlying issues of race, power, and surveillance, when critiquing the issue of privacy in society; perhaps, this series should be called Archive 84.
